We were tasked with creating an engaging experience through a word search game that entertains people while they interact with the brand. It must be compatible with all major browsers, mobile phones and tablets, while supporting both English and Arabic languages.
Before getting into the nitty gritty of UI design, we first put the entire user experience down on paper. This allowed us to map out how people flow from screen to screen, what they see on each screen, and how they interact with the different elements and features.
We now jump into writing code. All the features that were outlined needed to be developed using technology that is cross platform and cross device. We need it to run in all major browsers and on all screen sizes. For this, we used HTML5 and created a responsive app with CSS 3.
During the competition over 20,000 entries were received and 1200 winners were announced. This created an immense amount of buzz and the Facebook Page generated thousands of new Likes as well as a immense amount of visibility in the form of comments, likes and shares.
