The Collection is a horror movie released in December 2012. The movie is about a man who escapes from the vicious grips of the serial killer known as "The Collector" and is blackmailed to rescue an innocent girl from the killer's booby-trapped warehouse.
The Collection producers wanted to tap into IGN’s fan base and appeal to the “Collector” in them. We created a horror-themed Facebook app in which the user was asked to collect 5 of their favorite video games. Upon completing their collection, users were asked to watch the trailer of the movie after which they would be entered into a sweepstake.

The campaign was a huge success as the goals were met within 1 week. There were over 4000 entries received with 2000 new fans added to the IGN Facebook Page. The fans shared the app with over 5000 of their friends which in-turn garnered even more publicity for the movie than originally anticipated.
