Facebook Brings Most Recent Tab back to Pages

Facebook removed the tab “Most Recent” in February 2011 from Facebook Pages,a move that has been highly criticized. The most terrible thing which happened to the admins after the redesign of the page was that they were not able to set the default view for the users to “Most Recent”; it was the user’s choice to view the page with the top posts or the most recent posts. This had a negative impact on the admins whose page’s primary concern is with the current happenings.

Facebook’s new redesign last month for the Pages had significant changes. With this redesigning of Page admins could only show the “Everyone” view to users, which included the posts by friends, posts by users from same geographic location and language and posts that has most likes or comments (sometimes it also had posts older than a week), instead of giving the option to admins that the users can view the “Most Recent” posts or updates on the page. The “Most Recent” view could only be viewed by the Admins to make sure that they keep an eye on every post.

The “Everyone” view has been renamed to “Top Posts” by Facebook. When the default view of the page’s wall is set to “All Posts” as a default view, the “Top Posts” tab shows up first.

Currently there is no option for admins that can make the “Most Recent” tab the default view for the users instead of the “Top Posts” tab when admins set “All Posts” as the default view for their wall. Facebook has removed the “Most Recent” tab from the admin view, as it is now a public view, and now admins are directed to the moderation of “Hidden Posts” in the navigation menu.

The changes made by Facebook suggest that they are paying close attention to products and the feedback for the products. It obviously wants the irrelevant posts to be removed from the scene and concentrate on the useful comments or updates or feedbacks of the users. The unnecessary comments or posts does effect in users interest and Facebook is working to finish it off.
