On Tuesday, Facebook announced it’s new feature Graph Search, which can comfortably be called a glimpse into the future of social media search. Graph Search allows the users to search particular information within their Facebook network. The feature has been launched in beta and only a few people are granted access to use it for the time being.
Facebook’s IPO, as we all know, had disappointing results and flushed out expectations of a number of people who were excited about it. It also put a Question Mark on the company’s ability to monetize with the huge user base it has. However, keeping the IPO failure behind, Facebook has recently announced a Subscription and Local Currency Pricing Model for Facebook Application Developers (potentially to add a recurring source of revenue for itself).
Facebook has announced its new feature “App Center” on Wednesday. Facebook says ‘The target is to offer a center point for over 900 million users to find great social apps. It will be another channel to increase the growth for Apps on Facebook, Mobile Apps, and Websites that use Facebook Connect for the login processes.
When the Facebook Timeline was introduced for profiles a few months ago, the community was in an uproar, as they usually are when a change is made to the beloved Facebook UI, which we always grow so accustomed to. However, as is always the case, once enough time has passed, people learn to embrace the change and realize that there was in-fact, a lot of thought put into the user experience, and eventually it became widely accepted that the timeline was a major improvement as it provides a lot more opportunity for customization and organization of information.
