France is on every traveler’s wish list and Air France, one of the world’s leading airlines, wanted to give their followers a chance to turn their wish into a reality.
Sparkloft Media created a thrilling app concept and reached out to us to help bring their idea to life. We worked with the Sparkloft team to develop a responsive microsite to provide the Air France fans a chance to win a trip to the country.
Once we had an overview of what Air France’s followers expect, we got down to developing the microsite. Rather than focusing on textual representation, this microsite used images of famous landmarks to represent French cities for a stronger impact. Not only did the result look appealing, it also helped followers learn more about what the country has to offer.
With many objects to showcase, we created a system that would position these images at some predefined values on the microsite. This allowed us to create a 360 degree scrolling effect showing landmarks at different scrolling directions. Selecting a landmark of interest allowed fans to learn more about the city of choice, share it with their friends on social media, along with a sweepstakes form to become part of the lucky draw to win one of three pairs of tickets to France.
The plan to use images of landmarks and the powerful scrolling engine was very well received by the fans. The campaign generated a lot of buzz on social media, while becoming yet another successful campaign we and Sparkloft Media worked on together.
