About Campaign

Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau wanted to encourage German travelers to visit Austin, Texas via a new Condor Airlines route from Frankfurt to Austin.

Sparkloft Media developed a campaign concept and reached out to us to help them bring an exciting idea to life. We teamed up to develop a responsive microsite to share information and inspiration with Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau’s potential travelers.

The Application

To educate travelers about Austin, it was essential to give them the option to explore the city, allowing them to uncover what it has to offer.

The German app is based on 3 illustrated scenes, with each scene portraying some famous places or activities worth exploring. This included activities at the Lady Bird Park and the famous 6th Street, and the love for barbeque that the people of Austin share. The app also gave a chance for lucky participants to win a trip to Austin, courtesy of Condor Airlines.

The Design

We worked with Sparkloft Media to develop storyboards and create wireframes to bring the concept to life. The app was designed and developed to be mobile friendly, and had to depict the Austin and Southwestern feel.

The background illustrations on the app were given a pastel effect, while the objects and animations in each scene were created to make the app further appealing, such as cycling and boating at the Lady Bird Park.

The Result

The campaign generated a lot of buzz with people hoping to be the lucky ones to win a trip to Austin, Texas!
