KLM Royal Dutch Airlines wanted to increase bookings from the U.S. to select destinations in Africa by creating a digital experience that would increase awareness of routes to these locations as well as inspire travel to visit them.
Sparkloft Media developed a campaign concept and reached out to us to help bring their idea, videos and designs to life. We worked with the Sparkloft team team to develop a responsive front-end microsite designed to share information and inspiration with KLM's customers, social followers as well as potential travelers.
When people plan a trip, they checkout the activities worth enjoying based on their interest in that destination. But, what if people could express their interest, and get relevant destination options to explore accordingly? That was the idea of the KLM Pack Your Bags application.
Rather than focusing on the destination, this app focuses on the bucket list items people would pack for their dream trip to Africa, and show corresponding activities in various destinations across the continent. The app provided a chance for one lucky participant to win a six-day luxury safari in the Serengeti courtesy of KLM and Asilia Africa.
